"Year of Faith" and "the New Evangelisation"
(Vatican Radio) Veronica Scarisbrick asks the Under Secretary of the Pontifical Council
for the New Evangelisation Monsignor Graham Bell how the Year of Faith which begins
on Thursday 11th of October ties in with the 13th Ordinary General Assembly
of the Synod of Bishops for the New Evangelisation".A: " I would say that the Year of Faith is connected to the Synod by subject matter which is, of course, faith. The official title of the Synod is: "the New Evangelisation for the Transmission of the Christian Faith".
The Year of Faith, in the mind of the Hoy Father, is an occasion for a renewal of the Church through the deepening of the faith of her members.
The Pope says in 'Porta Fidei', the document which establishes the Year of Faith, that this year is: "a summons to an authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord, the one Saviour of the world."
