St. Francis feeding the birds:a picture in sound

(Vatican Radio) "Some of you may know the lovely fresco by Giotto of Saint Franics feeding the birds. Rather less well-known is a short piano piece by the 19th century Hungarian composer, Franz Liszt. It paints a picture in sound of Saint Francis feeding the birds", says our music historian Monsignor Philip Whitmore.

In this musical meditation focusing on Saint Francis of Assisi, Monsignor Whitmore also brings us music from the great French composer Olivier Messiaen.
