Pope Benedict XVI continues to inspire Mideast youth
(Vatican Radio) An unforgettable event that is already bearing fruit: a week ago,
the young people of Lebanon and the Middle East gathered with Pope Benedict XVI in
the small square in front of the Maronite Patriarchate of Bkerke in Beirut. Vatican
Radio’s Alessandro Gisotti interviewed the coordinator of the meeting, Father Toufic
Bou Hadir. “Really, I can not describe [how] blessed [a] moment [that was],” he said,
adding, “all the young people [who participated] – whether in Bkerke [directly] or
[through] the media,” he said, “are overwhelmed with joy and with hope.” He went on
to say, “They really believe that they have [experienced] a new Pentecost, a real
presence of the Holy Spirit.” Listen to Fr. TouficBouHadir’s
extended conversation with Vatican Radio's Alessandro Gisotti:
