The UN is calling on China not to send back refugees who have fled conflictin Burma
also known as Myanmar. The appeal comes after the UN's refugee agency reported that
up to five thousand people, the majority of them children, have been returned.
Many
of them fled fighting between government troops and rebels in Kachin state.
They
are now displaced and having to live in makeshift camps because they are too frightened
to go home to their villages.
Adrian Edwards of the UNHCR says they are in
desperate need of basic supplies of food, medicine and shelter. Listen
