John Paul I: no coronation, no tiara, no fanfare...

(Vatican Radio) - Veronica Scarisbrick brings you a feature focusing on the figure of John Paul I who was elected to the See of Peter on the 26th August 1978 and who was born a century ago this year.

In this programme she brings you a Vatican Radio archive recording of this pope's gentle voice speaking in English during his 33 day pontificate.

Also featured are a series of comments by some of those who personally knew him. Among them three cardinals: the late Cardinal John Patrick Foley, Cardinal William Wakefield Baum and Cardinal Prosper Grech.
