Russian Orthodox head says relations with Catholic church has improved
(July 23, 2012) The head of the Russian Orthodox Church has noted improvements in
relations between his Church and the Roman Catholic Church. “In the past few years
relations with the Roman Church has notably improved,” Russian Orthodox Patriarch
Kirill told visiting Italian prime minister, Mario Monti on Sunday. In particular
he noted “common vision on many points, on moral and pastoral levels.” This however
does not mean that ideological questions that divide us have lost their relevance,
the patriarch clarified. He said both the Churches have the same vision on moral
questions and this unites them to a great extent.
