New Auxiliary Bishop for Toronto

The Holy Father on Friday appointed Monsignor Wayne Kirkpatrick as auxiliary bishop of Toronto, Canada. The newly appointed bishop was born on June 5, 1957. He was ordained to the priesthood on September 1, 1984. He has served various pastoral positions in the Diocese of St. Catherines, and since 2005 has served as Pastor of the Cathedral parish and Moderator of the Diocesan Curia. He also has held the post of Judicial Vicar since 1998. In 2011, he also held the position of Diocesan Administrator for the Diocese of St. Catherines.
