US warns of terrorist attacks in Kenya

The US embassy in Kenya has warned of possible terrorist attacks. The embassy in Nairobi says it has credible information that attacks are in the final stages of planning. They say some of the city's key hotels and government buildings are being targeted.
In a statement, the Embassy goes on to say that “it reason to believe that the potential attack is in the last stages of planning. The US Embassy urges Americans to remain aware of their surroundings and vigilant of their personal security," .
It also added terrorist acts could include "suicide operations, bombings, kidnappings, attacks on civil aviation, and attacks on maritime vessels in or near Kenyan ports."

The UK issued a similar warning to its nationals in Kenya earlier this year.
