Pope praises work of Biblical Commission

Pope Benedict XVI has sent a Message to the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal William Levada, to mark the Plenary Session of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, which concluded on Friday. The Commission was examining “The Inspiration and Truth of the Bible” – a theme the Holy Father described as, “fundamental for a correct hermeneutic of the biblical message.” The Holy Father went on to express his great appreciation for the work of the Commission, which, he said, “is committed to promoting the awareness of the Word of God, its study and its embrace in the world.
