The pierced and bloodied body of Christ has been taken down from the cross and laid
to rest in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, the great rock rolled over its entrance
and all is silent.. On Holy Saturday, as we prepare to celebrate the great mystery
of the Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday, we are given a gift: a time for silent
reflection and prayer, a moment to ask forgiveness and to hope in the joy that only
Christ can bring.
To help us enter into the proper spirit of the day, we
go to Jerusalem, the city of Our Lord’s Passion, death and Resurrection. From there,
