Earth Hour in Punjab

(March 31.2012) “By switching off the lights, for one hour, we will be showing solidarity towards conserving energy, and the larger cause of protecting our nature”, said Gunbir Singh, WWF chairperson Punjab, India. With the Earth Hour awareness campaign globally getting huge response, the WWF in Punjab appealed to all citizens to switch off lights for one hour from 8,30 to 9,30 p.m. A function to spread awareness about energy conservation and save environment was hosted at Khalsa College, Amritsar on Saturday evening. A candlelight vigil by the students was also held at Khalsa College, where a large number of persons gathered.
