Mexico’s bishops release song for Pope’s visit

(March 14, 2012) “Messenger of peace, messenger of love, who brings hope to my heart, the people are faithful to you”. These are the words of an official hymn especially composed for the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Mexico from 23-26 March. The hymn titled “Messenger of Peace” was released by the Mexican Bishops Conference on Tuesday. Mexico’s organizing committee for the papal visit hoped that this song of love which will welcome Pope Benedict to Mexico will be for the Church and society in Mexico and Latin America, an important musical piece that will forge solidarity and fraternity among families, friends and all people . The organising committee also hoped that the song will usher in new and better ways of peace, faith and hope.
