On the road to Dublin for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress
A new book charting the lead up to the 50th International Eucharistic Congress was
launched on Thursday here at Vatican Radio.The book is published in Italian and is edited by the Vatican Publishing House under the title “The Eucharist. Birthplace of the Church: On the way towards the 50th International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin.
Taking part at the launch was the General Secretary of the Congress, Fr Kevin Doran. He spoke to Lydia O’Kane about the countdown to the event saying, “ The are…just one hundred days to go and there is a great conscienceness of that among the team and a certain nervousness I suppose because it is coming…”
Fr Doran also adds that there is a sense of anticipation regarding the Congress bell which will be here in Rome next week.
“The bell is coming to Rome for St Patrick’s Day (March 17th) but we also got word just yesterday that it’s going to be received at the audience by Pope Benedict on Wednesday the 14th.
The 50th International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin, Ireland will be held from the 10th to the 17 June. Listen
