As Christians around the world mark the annual week of prayer for Christian unity,
we shine the spotlight on one of the oldest ecumenical dialogues, that between the
Catholic Church and the World Methodist Council which began in 1967.
The
Rev. Ken Howcroft is the minister at the Ponte Sant'Angelo Methodist Church in Rome
and until last year served as the Ecumenical Officer for the British Methodist Church.
He spoke to Susy Hodges about the events taking place to mark the week of prayer
for Christian unity in Rome. He also gave her an assessment of the current state
of relations between Catholics and Methodists and spoke of how "these conversations
have been immensely fruitful."
