The US Catholic Bishops from Region 3 – comprising New Jersey and Pennsylvania – are in Rome this week for their ad limina visits. Chris Altieri spoke with the group’s senior prelate, Archbishop John J. Myers of Newark, New Jersey. Beginning with a broad overview of the life of the Church in Newark, their conversation turned to the question of religious liberty and the role of religion in public life.
