International Symposium on Water held in Mumbai

(Nov. 30, 2011) “Water: issues and challenges to promote peace and harmony,” was the theme of an International symposium held on Saturday in Mumbai, western India’s Maharashtra State. Retired Cardinal Paul Poupard - former President of Vatican’s Pontifical Councils for Inter-Religious Dialogue and for Culture was the chief guest at the symposium held at Mumbai’s St. Andrew’s College. The symposium discussed the role of water on health, and promotion of peace and harmony. Other guests included Scientist Niranjan Bilgi, and former Chief Secretary Government of Maharashtra Dr. D.K Sankaran. The students of the college presented folk songs and dances to enliven the symposium .
