Interreligious conservation initiative gets underway in Assisi
Representatives of a dozen different churches and faith groups are gathered in Assisi
this week for a meeting focused on the role of religious communities in protecting
the environment. The three day conference is organised by the British based organisation
ACT or Alliance of Religions and Conservation. Philippa Hitchen is in Assisi – right
now she is taking part in the inaugural procession which begins at the basilica of
St Francis, though just about an hour ago I reached her by phone and asked her about
