World day against the death penalty is marked

Today marks World Day Against the Death Penalty.This year’s world day is focusing on the inhumanity of the death penalty as a cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment.

“While the death penalty is sold as a way to restore humanity, it is the ultimate inhumanity”, says Mario Marazziti the Spokesperson for the St Egidio Community.
