As Catholics across the United Kingdom mark the first anniversary of Pope Benedict's
visit last September, we take a look at its lasting legacy through the eyes of one
of the trip organisers.As the British Government’s coordinator for the papal visit,
Lord Chris Patten was amongst those in the frontline dealing with all the logistical
and organisational headaches ahead of the four day visit to Edinburgh, Glasgow, London
and Birmingham. Shortly after it was all over, Philippa Hitchen caught up with
Lord Patten here in Rome to hear his impressions. They talked about the reasons for
its success, about favourite memories and about the serious debate Patten hopes it
will continue to generate with British society......
