As its name implies, the World Youth Day (WYD) gathering is a festival for young people
who wish to celebrate their faith in the company of their peers from many different
countries around the world and also get a chance to see the Pope at the same time. So
what are some of the main reasons that bring young people to the WYD event? And,
what do they get from this experience? In Madrid, Emer McCarthy caught up with a
group of pilgrims from South Africa and another group from Denver in the U.S. and
got some enthusiastic feedback from both groups.
