Humanitarian and security crises continue in Horn of Africa

The United Nations Security Council has urgently called for more international assistance for the famine in Somalia which has already killed tens of thousands of people. As many as 12 million people have been affected by the drought in the Horn of Africa, with more than 3 million Somalis on the verge of starvation.
