The New English Missal for India to be Ready by October, 2011
July 05, 2011: The Latin rites bishops of India said that the New English Missal
for India to be Ready by October, 2011.
Fr. Savio Rodrigues, Executive Secretary
of the Commission for Liturgy of the Latin Bishops’ Conference known as CCBI is currently
busy supervising the printing of the new Missal in Delhi. He said that he is confident
that the Missal would be ready for use for the Advent season in India.
For
the past several months he was working closely with the former CCBI Chairman of the
Liturgy Commission, Archbishop Dominic Jala sdb, who has been entrusted with the task
of the Indian edition of the Missal.
Archbishop Jala is a member of the International
Commission in English for Liturgy. The Commission has organized several seminars across
different dioceses in India to prepare the local Church to welcome the third edition
of the English Missal in India which also contains a few additions specific to the
Indian context, Fr.Savio stated.
