The United Nations nuclear agency has drawn up a post-Fukushima road map to help avoid
future nuclear reactor disasters. Over the past five days, about 30 government ministers
joined about 1,000 experts to debate the lessons of Japan's March 11 nuclear disaster.
In
his closing statement the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency,
Yukiya Amano, said that the conference had achieved its main goal “which was to pave
the way for an enhanced post-Fukushima global nuclear safety framework”.
