Pope supports international family centre in Nazareth
(June 03, 2011) Pope Benedict XVI is encouraging the establishment of an international
centre for the family in Jesus’ childhood town of Nazareth, by the Italian movement,
“Renewal in the Holy Spirit.” Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone
sent a message to the group on behalf of the Pope saying, “The Holy Father is encouraging
the movement’s initiatives, specially the establishment of the International Centre
for the Family in Nazareth.” The message was read on the occasion of the 34th
national meeting of “Renewal in the Holy Spirit” which began on Thursday in Rimini,
Italy, and will conclude on Sunday. Some 15,000 are participating in the meeting on
the theme, “My Flesh For The Life Of The World.” The family centre of Nazareth has
been entrusted by the Holy See to the movement, and is slated for completion next
year. Cardinal Stanislaw Rylko, president of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for
the Laity has also sent a message to the Rimini meeting encouraging the “Renewal in
the Holy Spirit” movement to a renewed missionary thrust so that they can offer the
world the witness of God’s love for man to which they are called.
