Vatican official 's pastoral visit to Hungary


(May 31, 2011) The President of the Pontifical Council for Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People will begin a six-day pastoral visit to Hungary on Wednesday (1 June). Archbishop Antonio Maria Veglio has been invited by Bishop János Székely, Promoter of the Pastoral Care of the Human Mobility of the Episcopal Conference of Hungary.
During his six- day visit, Archbishop Veglio will address several conferences in Hungary. On Thursday, June 2, he will speak at a conference in the Hungarian capital Budapest on “Interfaith dialogue - Jewish-Christian and Muslim.” On Friday June 3, he will attend a meeting on the pastoral care of sanctuaries and deliver an address entitled "The Role of Sanctuaries in the new evangelization in Europe.” On Saturday, June 4, he will visit the Sanctuary of Mariapocs and participate in the meeting of Gypsy families. On Sunday, June 5, on the occasion of the annual pilgrimage of the Gypsies, Archbishop Veglio will preside at Mass in the National Shrine of Mátraverebély-Szentkút, during which 33 gypsy children will receive their first communion.
