Pope Benedict XVI will visit Croatia in June, Travel to Castel Gandolfo in early July


(May 18, 2011) Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to Croatia, his first foreign trip of 2011, will stay in Zagreb for two days where there will be several activities opened for public. On the 4th of June evening Pope will speak directly to the young people during the prayer vigil which will be held in the Zagreb main square. On Sunday 5th morning at10:00a.m., Holy Mass will be held in Zagreb Hippodrome. Pope will mark the day for national Catholic family day with believers. Before finishing the visit, Pope Benedict will pray vespers with bishops, priests, religious and seminarians in the Cathedral of Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Zagreb. Pope will also visit the tomb of Blessed Alojzije Viktor Stepinac in the Cathedral and address the gathering. On Sunday 19th of June, on the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, Pope Benedict will visit to the Republic of San Marino. He will be visiting Madrid, Spain from August 18 to 21st on the occasion of the 26th World Youth Day and then visit Germany from the 22nd to 25th of September. Vatican has announced that the Pope will travel to Castel Gandolfo in early July, for his summer vacation and all the traditional Wednesday general audiences will be suspended for the month. The Pope declined the invitation this year to spend a holiday in Bressanone. In 2010 also the Pontiff had declined the holiday in the mountains as he was busy completing the second volume of his Book “Jesus of Nazareth.” On Wednesday, 18th of May at the end of the general audience the Pope met in one of the adjacent rooms in the Vatican Paul VI Hall, the new secretary general of the Arab League appointed two days ago, Nabil al-Arabi, and former Egyptian foreign minister.
