A green saint and pope

Showing care and respect for our natural environment is not just a modern-day concern. If we look back to the medieval age or even earlier, there are several prominent examples of churchmen who loved and respected God’s creation. Listen to this reflection by George Ferzoco, an expert on medieval religious culture, at Bristol University. He explores the figure of Celestine the 5th and notes how many of his concerns about the environment are still relevant today.
