Pope meets members of Papal Foundation

(May 05, 2011) Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday praised the members of the Papal Foundation for the important contribution the foundation was making to the charitable activities of the Holy See. Meeting them in the Vatican during their annual visit to Rome, the Pope took the opportunity to express his gratitude for their involvement in projects aimed at integral human development and for their encouragement of the apostolic activities of dioceses and religious congregations throughout the world. The Pope hoped that their pilgrimage to the tombs of the apostles and martyrs will renew their love for the Lord and his church and help them realize their commitment to the ideals of the Foundation . The Papal Foundation was born as a means of demonstrating practical solidarity with the successor of Peter in his solicitude for the universal Church.
