Hail, O Cross, our one hope...

Monsignor Philip Whitmore brings you a musical meditation on the fourth sorrowful mystery of the Rosary: the carrying of the Cross.

Among the composers he's chosen for this programme are Spaniard Cristobal de Morales, Austrian symphonist Anton Bruckner and Hungarian Franz Liszt.

Commenting on Liszt, Monsignor Philip suggests we: .."listen to the music leading up to Our Lord's anguished cry to the holy women of Jerusalem - Weep not for me, but for yourselves and for your children...".
