Msgr. Anthony Figueiredo of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum reflects on this chapter
from Pope Benedict XVI's new book on Jesus of Nazareth. In this chapter, the Holy
Father asks "What is the Resurrection of Jesus?" He also examines the two different
types of Resurrection testimony. The first, what the Pope calls the "Confessional
Tradition," looks at the question of the empty tomb, the third day and witnesses to
the Resurrection. The second, which the Holy Father calls the "Narrative Tradition,"
examines Jesus' appearances to Paul and the appearances of Jesus in the Gospels.
In this chapter, Pope Benedict also summarizes "The Nature of Jesus' Resurrection
and its Historical Significance...."
