Remembering Shahbaz Bhatti

Condolences and condemnation continue to pour in for Pakistan’s Catholic Minister for Minority Affairs who was assassinated yesterday. Shahbaz Bhatti was shot and killed outside his mother's home in Islamabad. Assailants from al-Qaida and the Pakistani Taliban Movement in Punjab province claimed responsibility for the killing.

“We worked together a lot”, says Peter Jacob, the Executive Director of the National Commission for Justice and Peace in Pakistan.

“He was managing the political side of the struggle while we were taking care of the human rights and social side of the stuggle”.

Shahbaz Bhatti’s funeral is due to be held tomorrow. Listen
