A powerful earthquake struck Christchurch, New Zealand, Tuesday morning, killing at
least 65 people. More than 100 people are believed to still be trapped in the rubble.
It
is the second strong earthquake to hit New Zealand’s southern island in 6 months.
The spire of Christchurch cathedral toppled into a central square, and several
other buildings collapsed.
After surveying the damage, New Zealand Prime Minister
John Key said the country may be seeing its darkest day.
