The World Meteorological Organization has reported that last year tied for the hottest
year on record and future warming depended on action to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
The first ten years of the millennium proved to be the hottest decade since records
began in the 19th century. Omar Baddour is responsible for global climate monitoring
at the WMO. He told Lydia O’Kane that, “if we continue on the current trend by the
end of this century we might come up with a value of the global temperature which
will impact many aspects of our lives.”
He adds that everyone has a role to
