Pope to visit Germany in September 2011

Pope Benedict XVI will visit Germany next year. A statement released today by the President of the German Bishops Conference, Archbishop Zollitsch announced that the Pope will visit Germany in September and is expected to be a guest of the Archdiocese of Berlin and Freiburg and the Diocese of Erfurt.

The statement continues that “the Bishops' Conference is deeply grateful to the Holy Father for his decision. His visit will strengthen the Church in Germany and its service to individuals and to society. The Pope has always taken part in the announcement of our journey of faith and Christian witness”.
