Archbishop Tomasi: “Freedom of expression, includes freedom to criticize”

Constructive criticism for the good of society was the focus of the Holy See’s intervention this week at the 15th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Addressing the assembly, the Vatican’s representative Archbishop Silvano Tomasi also stated that “Freedom of expression, includes freedom to criticize”.
He also added that “true defamation of a religion is when it is manipulated and transformed into an ideology of discrimination against persons and communities”.
