8 Million Flood Victims Still Need Aid in Pakistan
(31 Aug 10 - RV) Floodwaters that have devastated Pakistan for five weeks began heading
to the Arabian Sea today, after swallowing two final towns, but the challenges of
delivering emergency aid to 8 million people remain. We have this report:
Meanwhile,
local NGOs have reported on the building of a dam to divert floodwater towards areas
inhabited by Christian citizens. The water diverted to the Christian village of Khokharabad
in southern Punjab caused loss of human life, homes, and crops.
