Archbishop Wilson on Australian Elections


(13 Aug 10 - RV) Australia's federal election race is in its final stages with newspaper polls indicating a tight margin between the ruling Labour Party and the opposition Liberal-National coalition.
With little over a week to go, both parties are focusing on marginal seats where policies on mining, carbon tax and immigration could determine which way the vote goes.
Archbishop Philip Wilson of Adelaide is President of the Australian Bishops Conference.
