Catholic Charities Reaches Out to Families Affected by Oil Spill
(17 June 10-RV) In the Archdiocese of New Orleans, the group Catholic Charities has
a launched an effort to aid people in the area affected by the oil spill in the Gulf
of Mexico. Experts say thousands of families in the fishing and related industries
will be affected in the long term by the ongoing affects of the spill. Tom Costanza
is the director of the Office for Justice and Peace at Catholic Charities. He said
that this comes just 5 years after Katrina, and that many people now face losing their
livelihoods….
