Holy See and State of Israel hold meeting

(June 16,2010) A Plenary meeting of the Permanent Working Commission of the Holy See and the State of Israel took place at the Vatican on Tuesday.
A Joint communiqué released by the Holy See and the State of Israel said the bi-lateral meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding. It said the delegation of the Holy See was headed by Mons. Ettore Balestrero, Under-Secretary for Relations with States, and the Delegation of the State of Israel was led by Daniel Ayalon, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Joint communiqué said the Plenary welcomed the progress accomplished by the “Working Level” Commission, since the previous Plenary, and has agreed on the next steps towards the conclusion of the Agreement. The communiqué said the Plenary will hold its next meeting on December 6 at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
