(May 10, 2010) The United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization, (FAO) is launching
an anti-hunger campaign on Tuesday in order to create a worldwide movement so that
over a billion of the world’s chronically hungry people have sufficient food to eat.
The campaign entitled “1billionhungry’ will be launched at the FAO headquarters in
Rome, Italy. The campaign will mainly be an online signing of a petition where visitors
can express their outrage that even in the 21st century there are over
a billion people in the world who still go hungry. The website can be accessed at
1billoonhungry.org. The campaign will also be carried out on television, exhibitions,
the press, internet and merchandizing.
