Holy See signs accord with German State of Lower Saxony
(April 15, 2010) An accord was signed between the Holy See and the German State of Lower Saxony on 6th April, to modify an amendment of the Concordat of 26th February, 1965. The accord was signed in the State capital Hanover. The Vatican released the news on Thursday. The accord was signed by Arch-Bishop Jean Claude Périsset, the Apostolic Nuncio in Germany, and by Lower Saxony State President Christian Wulff. This agreement is an amendment to an article of the 1965 Concordat between the Holy See and Lower Saxony, and governs the legal status of some schools run by the Catholic Diocese of Hildesheim, Osnabruck and Munster.
