Call to Protect Religious Minorities in Pakistan

(RV - 27 Feb 10) Archbishop Lawrence Saldanha of Lahore has added his voice to a statement by the "Justice and Peace Commission of Pakistan" which calls on the government to protect religious minorities in the country.

The statement says minority groups including Christians are frequently the victims of crime and violence by militant groups, including the Taliban.

We spoke to the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Justice and Peace, Peter Jacob.
