(25 Feb 10 - RV) An Italian judge has held three Google executives criminally responsible
for an video of a teenager with Downs Syndrome being bullied that was posted on the
Google owned YouTube website.
Google says the decision endangers the idea
of a free and open internet, since the costs involved in reviewing every video posted
to a site like YouTube would force it to be shutdown.
However, the prosecutor
says the verdict puts the protection of innocent individuals over the concerns of
a business.
Kishore Jayabalan is the director of the Rome-office of the Acton
