television today to apologize for a deadly airstrike which killed several civilians,
an extraordinary attempt to regain Afghans' trust while a mass offensive continues
against the Taliban in the south. NATO-led troops are in the 10th day of an operation
to flush the Taliban out of Marjah district, where the militants had set up their
