International Convention Banning Cluster Munitions Gains Two New Members
(18 Feb 10 - RV) The international Convention banning cluster munitions gained two
new members this week when Moldova and Burkina Faso ratified the instrument, bringing
the total number of ratifications to 30. The treaty will come into effect on August
1st, 2010 when the Convention will become binding international law. Laos
is the country most affected by cluster bombs in the world. Later this year it will
host the first meeting of the states who are party to the ban. The coordinator of
the Cluster Munitions Coalition, Thomas Nash is in Laos, and spoke with us about the
