World Day for Communications: New Media at the Service of the Word

(23 Jan 10 - RV) Pope Benedict XVI today released his Message for the 44th World Day for Social Communications, to be celebrated this coming 16th of May, on the theme: “The priest and pastoral ministry in a digital world: new media at the service of the Word.”

In his Message, Pope Benedict says the theme for this year is meant to coincide with the Year for Priests, and focuses attention on the pastoral area of digital communications, in which priests can discover new possibilities for carrying out their ministry.
