Israel to Triple Contruction Inspectors in West Bank
(30 Nov 09 - RV) Israel’s defence minister yesterday ordered his office to triple
the number of construction inspectors in the West Bank to enforce a new settlement
freeze declared by the government. Palestinians have rejected Netenyahu’s latest offer
because it does not include Jerusalem, or stop construction of the 3,000 homes that
have already been approved or are under way. We spoke to the co-director of the Israel/Palestine
Centre for Research and Information about what this means for the future of peace
talks in the area.
