Climate Change Threatens China's Future

(28 Nov 09 - RV) With only a week to go to the Copenhagen Climate Change conference, scientists are urging world governments to stick to the proposal of a 40 percent cut in emissions by 2020 amid fears the US and China will broker for a reduction to 20 percent. Fr Sean McDonagh, a Columban missionary and environmentalist, says China is grasping the dangers of climate change because the effects are now threatening the nation’s future.
