South Africa Faces Pressure to Decriminalize Prostitution
(18 Nov 09 - RV) With less than a year to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa Cardinal
Wilfred Napier of Durban is warning against pressures being “placed” on the South
African government to decriminalize prostitution. South Africa is a hub for trafficking
in human persons with criminal organisations from Nigeria, Italy, Lebanon, China,
all sending thousands of women to be used as prostitutes on the streets. Cardinal
Napier says it is the latest attempt to sell the soul of his nation.
