Lisbon Treaty and Climate Top the Agenda at EU Summit
(30 Oct 09 - RV) The European Union reached a deal yesterday at a summit in Brussels
that opens the way to the ratification of the Lisbon treaty. Leaders of the 27-nation
block agreed on the wording of a deal to persuade the Czech President to ratify the
treaty which would reform the EU's top institutions. Meanwhile, in the EU wants
to give 100 billion euro a year to poor countries until 2020 in the framework of a
draft document for the upcoming Copenhagan conference on climate change. Blandine
